Announcing a New Project: 78 Days of Tarot

I just today out of a desire to DO SOMETHING since it’s Oct 1st (time for WITCHY PROJECTS) decided this marks day one of my 78 DAYS OF TAROT.

I propose if you’re interested, you pick a favorite deck (or several decks), you pick one card a day, and you do a write-up for that card. Write ups can be physical or typed or whatever you want. Short or long. Meditate on the card. Meanings the card feels like it has, meanings it traditionally has, it’s open-ended. This exercise is designed to give you a deeper understanding of your existing decks.

I’ll be using my Tarot of the Magical Forest.

I’ll be going in order, so for me:

Oct 1 - 22: Major Arcana

Oct 23 - Nov 5: Cups

Nov 6 - Nov 19: Wands

Nov 20 - Dec 3: Pentacles

Dec 4 - Dec 17: Swords

So if you’re interested in joining tag posts you make with the 78daystarotproject. I’ll likely be making weekly posts instead of daily, but whatevers. Feel free to begin by posting the deck you want to use and your approximate order if you have one. Or you can follow mine, whatever.

For your convenience, I have made a few buttons. Please download it, add to your blog, and link to this post if you use it. I'd be thrilled if you guys wanted to join me in this shenanigans. (I made a few buttons in case you're not a fan of my adorable tarot.)

  1. I am going to try to do this (because I am aware that some days I probably will not be able to post). I'm starting with drawing cards from the Crow's Magick Tarot, which is fairly drastically nontraditional. I'll be posting at twistedchick.dreamwidth.org.

    (I am using my old LJ account for ID for posting because blogspot doesn't recognize Dreamwidth.)

  9. I'm in! I'm late to the game posting-wise, but I have been working on getting to know my Pagan Cat Tarot Deck, so I'm happy to join this as part of a community! I'm a complete and other novice to the craft, but I'm enjoying the experience, using a few of my other decks (I'm a fan of collecting decks, what can I say?) for fiction/writing purposes. so yeah. count me in.
